Supporting Education
We contribute to bright futures through investments in the community. Through our partnerships and the OGE Energy Corp. Foundation, we're able to offer scholarships, classroom project funding, student safety programs, and other resources to students and teachers.
Scholarship & Workforce Development

Our scholarship opportunities help us attract, recruit and retain a diverse workforce throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas. At the same time, they allow us to build a pipeline of future OG&E workers while promoting growth in the energy and manufacturing industries. Providing Opportunity
OG&E Positive Energy Scholarship
The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation provides scholarships to aspiring energy leaders to continue to build a talented workforce pipeline. We annually award three $60,000 scholarships to high school seniors interested in diverse and exciting jobs across the industry. Funds may be used to cover tuition, books, fees, and on-campus room and board. The scholarship helps students pursue their academic and career goals to make a difference in their community. The application is now open, and recipients will be chosen in the spring.
OGE Energy Scholars
We've awarded 150 scholarships - totaling $646,000 - to OSU college students enrolled in the Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, High Voltage Lineman, Power Plan Technology, Engineering Technologies - Electrical/Electronic Technology or Engineering Technologies - Instrumentation Technology programs of study at OSU Stillwater, OSU-OKC or OSUIT. Positive Teacher Grants
The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation partners with local public school teachers through Positive Energy Teacher Grants offered through DonorsChoose. These grants supported 222 projects for 132 teachers across 83 schools over the past school year.
OG&E Positive Energy Scholarship
Since launching the program in 2018, we’ve awarded 18 scholarships – totaling more than $1 million – to high school seniors who commit to attending college in Oklahoma or Arkansas, pursue a STEM-related degree and are OG&E customers. Recipients are often first-generation college students, and the scholarship relieves a significant financial burden for families for whom college might otherwise be unattainable. The OG&E Positive Energy Scholarship application is open from October 1st to February 15th, 2025.

Safety & Energy Efficiency Education

We provide teachers and school leaders energy education materials that are aligned with core academic standards, such as English Language Arts (ELA) standards, as well as science and health standards. In addition to providing academic content, these materials also convey important safety awareness messaging that shows students and families how to recognize, avoid and safely respond to utility-related incidents.

Supporting Teachers

Through our Positive Energy Teacher Grants, we provide dollar-for-dollar donations for teachers seeking funds for classroom projects, books, educational kits, games and lab equipment to support Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering and Math (STEM) education in our service area. We offer matching funds to public schools where a majority of students come from low-income households.

Bilingual and Diversity Teacher Pipeline Program
We energize the lives of Oklahoma City Public School employees by funding the OKCPS Foundation’s Bilingual and Diversity Teacher Pipeline Program. This initiative gives OKCPS paraprofessionals the chance to finish college and earn their teaching certificate—with no debt—while staying employed full time. The program is creating more diverse and inclusive classrooms by providing opportunities for teachers from underrepresented communities.
Eligibility & Timeline
The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation is subject to Internal Revenue Service rules and regulations governing private and charitable foundations.
To qualify for grant funding consideration, your organization must meet the following criteria:
  • Be a U.S.-based IRS 501(c)(3) qualified charitable or educational organization or an accredited K-12 educational institution
  • Be geographically located where OG&E operates
  • Serve communities without discrimination against any individual on the basis of race, creed, gender, age, sexual orientation or national origin
  • Have a method by which to measure, track, and report program outcomes and specific results that demonstrate measurable community impact
The OGE Energy Corp. Foundation generally does not fund grants for programs and projects associated with, but not limited to, the following:
  • An individual person or families
  • Building or Capital investments and improvements
  • Dinners, luncheons or other forms of indirect support
  • Organizations that are not 501(c)(3) organizations
  • Political parties or candidates
  • Religious activities, in whole or in part, for the purpose of furthering religious doctrine. The Foundation will consider funding faith-based organizations which provide services to all clients regardless of denomination
  • Sports teams/events such as tournaments (other than Special Olympics)
  • Organizations offering goods or services to employees as a benefit of grant approval (e.g., participation in golf tournaments, reservations at fundraising dinners, tickets to special events, etc.)
Applications are accepted year-round; however, funding decisions are made three times a year. Applications are evaluated three times per year during committee meetings based on the following dates:
Oct. 1 - Jan. 31 (Committee Meeting in March)
Feb. 1 - May 31 (Committee Meeting in July)
June 1 - Sept. 31 (Committee Meeting in November)
