Investing in Our Workforce

We’re fostering the next generation of talent to provide critical resources and sustain our communities.

Developing Our Talent for an Evolving Industry
We’re staying ahead by building the workforce of the future. We recruit diverse candidates and enable employee career paths that increase retention. Our professional training programs, industry engagements, educational partnerships, and scholarships help further our workforce development goals.

Providing Energy Industry Leadership
As a member of the Oklahoma and Arkansas Energy Workforce Consortia, a group of energy organizations working to future-proof talent, we’re leading the charge to meet the talent needs of the energy industry. We also advise and serve on workforce development boards and educational industry advisory councils across our service area to help create, foster and accelerate careers in our sector.

Supercharging STEM Education

We foster STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills through support of hands-on technical career partnerships. We work with high schools, universities, and career technology centers to provide internships for students to learn and apply STEM skills and knowledge in addition to supporting camps and events that introduce students to careers in STEM.

Positive Energy Scholarships

We work with universities to offer Positive Energy scholarships to attract, recruit, and retain a diverse workforce and continue to build a pipeline of future OG&E workers.

OGE Positive Energy Scholarship - Awards $15,000 per year (for up to 4 years) for high school seniors who commit to attending college in Oklahoma or Arkansas and pursue a STEM-related degree. The scholarship is administered through the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

OGE Energy Scholarship - Awards up to $5,000 for first-year college students studying Power Transmission and Distribution Technology or Electronics Engineering Technology and is administered through OG&E and Oklahoma State University.

Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive Recruitment
We actively recruit our workforce from the communities we serve. We focus on inclusive recruitment and partner with organizations like Northwest Lineman College and Cherokee Nation to diversify our candidates and employees. Our Women in Science group works with female students to promote STEM education and enable careers in the energy sector.
Veterans Embrace Our Culture
A focus on shared values including integrity, teamwork and safety lets military members smoothly transition to life at our company.
